An excellent model Gary - well done mate, and such an unusual subject as well. It was a rare sight on the stages 'back in the day' jut as much as it will be a rare sight in the cabinets of today!
Re: AUSTIN MCHALE OPEL MONZA
Thanks again Paul for posting this..And thanks for all the comments...
Where do i start...Thats what i said to myself when the base model arrived lol....! This was not an easy project at all...As said previous by colin there is alot of work converting a road car to rally..Inside wasnt a great deal handy enough..Converting dash, caging it and so forth...This model has extensive mods to the body work..The front bumper was built from scratch and also the rear boot spoiler..The sunroof needed filling in,Rear bumpers needed cut..etc...etc..my god never seen anything like it..And i thought this would be easy lol...Also had trouble finding someone who was gonna part with a set of manta 400 rims(schuco) What i did was to give a bit of a dish...Cut the backs of the rims which came on the car and glue to the front..These had to be cut exactly 1mm and very neat to fit..also filled up when glued...Not easy imo..! But thankfully all in all this turned out really nice and compliments my ever growing mchale collection...
Ref to Rory...Get on man finish her up, it will be worth it... but all i say to you is Good luck !!!!!!!

Re: AUSTIN MCHALE OPEL MONZA
Exactly Paul - reading that detailed build sequence makes you realise how long the remaining 999 units are going to take to complete!

Re: AUSTIN MCHALE OPEL MONZA
That is sweet, top class work dude
Hope you don't mind me doing this but there's a guy posting on the Rallyforums site about his research and progress in restoring the original car so I'm gonna put a link to this thread on it as well.
And as has been said already, are you doing anymore, would love one of them if you are.
Off topic, did you ever get round to finishing the run of Frank Meagher 3dr Sierras
