New suggestion for the forum
I have been thinking about this for a while now, and was going to try introduce it to the other forum but it was closed.
Basically it would be like a tutorial on how to disassemble models, where the screws are, what needs to be poped out, and most importanly, whats plastic and whats metal. We have all been there where we are stripping a model and a bit snaps, or a plastic piece goes into the paint srtipper.
Ideally it would include pictures of each step etc but wouldnt be compulsary. At the start this would cover the base model only, and not the various variations of cars using that model as a base. eg IXO Ford Focus
Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Re: New suggestion for the forum
I think that's a brilliant idea Brian - almost like a section of easy to follow pictorial tutorials.
If it lived within a separate section or even individually as 'stickies' so they could easily be found, that would be good. If there isn't already a relevant tutorial in existence, then members could request one depending on what they are attempting to carry out.
I'm happy to pick up an IXO / Altaya 6R4 and strip that into pieces whilst photographing and describing each stage - but I won't have a chance for a couple of weeks I don't reckon. If anybody else wants to do it in the meantime I will not get offended lol!
Excellent idea Brian - nice one!

Re: New suggestion for the forum
I was hoping it would be in its own section, with a sub-forum for 1/18s (just to keep the each scale together). It would have to be fairly heavily moderated (or even locked) so that only completed guides would be posted and to keep chat to a minimum. Other threads could be made to discuss the guide, with worthwhile hints/tips being added to the guide, just so you dont have to scroll through pages of chat to find that little gem of knowledge.

Good idea Brian. I'd put two sub groups into the model building hint/advice section and then keep completed guides as locked stickies at the top. Then discussion topics can be created below without getting in the way.

Re: New suggestion for the forum
Great idea i would luv to start making my own models but wouldnt have a clue how to remove or put on decals!!
This might be the time to ask this question:I was always wondering how to know what tampo on a model is?? is it painted on or what!!
Would be great to see a model done from start to finish... Hope this happens
