British Rally Championship 2021
The belated season opener ran yesterday with the slightly unusual choice of the Neil Howard stages at Oulton Park circuit which was originally a round of the MSN Circuit Championship. It became a bit like a UK version of Rally Monza!
A stellar entry was assembled with the top UK and Irish crews coming together in a great battle in the sunshine which whilst wont have pleased the purists however after 16 months or so it was a welcome relief to get out and see some live rallying. A few penalties and a late exclusion caused a bit of controversy however if the season continues and at or near this level of interest then could be a great year.

Agree that it was a good start to the season. 1 second difference between first and second at the end.

Unseeded entry lists for the next round which hopefully will go ahead as still seems to be a bit of uncertainty in the kingdom of Wales. Another cracking rally looks to be in prospect with Keith Cronin and Tom Cave joining in all being well.

I think we can just be glad that there is some rallying. OK it's not for the purist, but it's rallying and it's back with. hopefully, plenty more on the way.

Final round this weekend - can Edwards be the first man to win 3 in a row or will Pryce, who's come close before, hold his nerve. Either way, it will be a new car that takes the title as both drive a Polo R5

Nice to have a battle for the title right down to the wire. Entry overall shows the strength of rallying in Ireland.

Congrats to Matt Edwards 2021 BRC Champion (if he finishes the last stage!). There was only 9 seconds in it until SS8 when Osian Pryce crashed out whilst in 2nd. Shows how hard the boys were charging as the third paced car was nearly 2 minutes behind at that point..

You have to feel for Pryce but a very impressive recovery for Matt after a tricky start to the season. The one upside is that the livery on Matt’s car is easier to draw!
