Re: Cazzo's Project Thread
My thoughts are with OTTO is to Soda blast them back to the bare resin and then paint as normal. Trying to sand them down is too time consuming and the finish is simply harder to get. Colin well done on the Connolly M3. Was thinking of trying to produce 1/18 decals but painting the green seems the better option. The yellow decals them simply go on top of the green. Who is doing them for you?

Thanks Lad's,
I've went the other way with this one Rory and didn't remove the Otto paint, I don't trust the resin and didn't want to get a reaction or spend ages priming it,
I used grey (ultra fine) Scotch Brite to rub the original Otto paint to give it a key for my paint to stick to, it's kinda using the original paint as an under coat,
After giving it a few coats of white I let it sit for a day to fully cure then rubbed it with the Scotch Brite again and masked up for the green to be added,
I then gave it a coat of lacquer to smooth out the edge between the white/green,
This model is for Brian so unfortunately it's not staying in my cabinet, I think he'd be the man to ask about decals

Well I took a few days out to build one for the cabinet,
Big thanks to Billy for these decals
Revell Manta stripped and removed the rear fog lights + number plate recess and filled in the holes,
I painted the gold on in basecoat (non gloss) then added the decals, after they sat over night I added a few coats of 2k lacquer,
While it sat to cure I worked on the dash conversion + sorted out the wipers,
Next up was to add the black detail and build her up,

Busting to do the other Manta next but I've too much on to start it just yet,

I like this more than the Rothmans one as well Brian, if I was really stuck for another base model I'd maybe use the Rothmans one,
Here's the longer clip of that "Dear god" moment

I started this model months ago, got it stripped and painted, done the black detailing then it just sat here stuck in the corner,
Took a bit of time on Christmas eve and finally finished it off, added the decals, changed the dash & wipers, put different disc's on,
I'd a set the roof vents off a Legacy so have them just sitting on but not sure if to glue them on or not,

Re: Cazzo's Project Thread
Thats class colin.
Id definitely keep the vents but maybe change the angle so they are not open as much. Its not the south of france we live in
