Well I'm off the 9to5 job for a few days so I'm going to get stuck into these models,
Here's what I've been up to over the last weekend or so,
Another Cossie
This one arrived in a state, someone had a go at painting a red road car model silver!!
Full strip and motorsport interior + wheels added
Sierra Touring Car
This one was just a wheel swop from the bigger Touring Car wheels to a set of an RS200,
There's another seat to be added to make it more like a rally car,
Impreza S12b
This was a new Autoart model full strip and respray including the interior,
I've 2 of these to do so here's a before and after,
Next up tomorrow is a green & white M3

Saving the worst till last... haha
Love that white s12. Will need one for a Boland car in the future so by then you will have the process down to production line speed

Ah I wouldn't say that Brian lol
I was just clearing up a few unfinished jobs first so I can stick to doing the M3,
These Autoart Impreza's and a bit of a ballix as the interior is blue so needs painted,
Sunstar have a white S12b that would strip back to white without painting

Re: Cazzo's Project Thread
Yes but they look crap. The headlights are all wrong. The AA's are expensive but worth it as its much more accurate.

Yeah the AA are a far better model and the detail is spot on,
Didn't notice the Sunstar headlights but then I only had a quick look at the photos lol

Thanks Alan, I do like a challenge
Here's the M3 so far,
I've prep'd up the shell and got a few coats of primer on the front end were the spot lamps + fog lights were,
It's been rubbed down and then a few coats of white added so the next stage after the white has cured is to add the green

Re: Cazzo's Project Thread
Looking good Colin. Glad its getting a full white coat as Otto seem to put too much clear on it and seems to go smokey after a while. My 306 with spots and without spots look like too different shades white because of it

Re: Cazzo's Project Thread
Cheers Brian, it's getting there
I noticed the white on these Otto M3's looks more of a cream colour with the amount of lacquer they have on it + some resin bleed-through,
I've one with the decals removed sitting beside a Sunstar MKll and you can really see the difference,
All being well I'll have the green done tomorrow and she'll be good to go back to you on Monday,

Well I plucked up the courage to mask up this Connelly M3 and add the green paint today,
One of the more tricky 1/18's I done as I wasn't following any natural lines or panel gaps,
After doing this M3 I was on a bit of a roll so painted the gold on to the Manta for Fisher's Gold Card Car,
I've adjusted this photo to try and show a more true colour match to the green on the model,

Re: Cazzo's Project Thread
Wow colin that turned out great. Knew you were the man for the job! Its a difficult mask as you said. Theres very few reference points to use as a guide and its an unusual curve on the side. Top work mate

Re: Cazzo's Project Thread
Fancy doing a 1/43 Beemer in the Connolly BP colours and maybe 3 M3s in the Woodside Haulage green
Re: Cazzo's Project Thread
.
Cheers Brian,
Yeah reference points were few and far between lol
I started in the middle of the door and worked up the bonnet then up to the boot lid trying to keep the gap to the wheel arch equal,
Peter I have those models on my list to build for myself, I've the decals sitting here for them,
I'm taking some time off from doing other peoples models in January to do a few for the cabinet so I could do them along with mine,
I'll give you a shout after the holidays
