Re: Resin primer
In my experience the paint is not so important on resin, whatever you normally use will I'm sure be ok, make sure you wash the parts well with soapy water before you paint though as often mould release chemicals are still there, any issues I've ever had have come from these stopping the paint sticking and not from any paint/resin reactions or anything like that.

I would recomend a primer, grey or white depending on your top colour. It will give the top coat something to stick to.

Re: Resin primer
I would definitely use any standard primer first to get the paint to stick.

Oops, sorry, wasn't so clear or the painting I guess, if you are brushing paint on then IMO no need to prime, if you are spraying I'd always use primer
