Thats great Rory. Well done. I might be able to help with the logos that are too small to be legible.
Maybe instead of stripping it all back, just use some black bare metal foil. As its thinner than decals, it will conform better to the model

Re: Cork 20 Rally 2014 Model display
That's a cracker!
Re the Coleman picture - i'm not an expert, but I think that whilst its a picture from 1974 which is the year Billy was BRC Champion, it's not actually a BRC event - i think its actually a Motoring News Rally Championship event - the Borders Uniflo rally. Billy did a variety of UK and European rallies that year, not just BRC events. (there are some pictures of the Firestone event which was part of the ERC knocking about on the web somewhere).

Re: Cork 20 Rally 2014 Model display
Photos will eventually get here Rory !!! I have some on my phone but they need to get from there to here and its a long way in between
Obviously we would like to thank the shop owners who allowed us access and in some cases left the lights on overnight. Donie put a lot of time and work in as did Sean Buckley to whom I am particularly thankful for putting a "professional gloss" on our efforts. Brian was most helpful with getting decals drawn and printed that allowed a number of "new" models to break cover.
Sean Buckley gave us the loan of his Coleman Cork 20 6R4, Rory got the Coleman Fiat 131 to us as did Realcarmodels the Coleman Monte Carlo Porsche. A combination of Niall O'Driscoll and JFE ensured we had the Darragh O'Riordan Fiesta. Brian drew and produced the decals for the Paddy O'Callaghan Beetle and the Jimmy McRae Cork 20 Chevette HSR. As ever when one starts thanking people one inevitably leaves someone out but my intention in setting out the foregoing is to show that it took a lot of people to help us achieve what we did.
I had plans for next year but it appears that there may not be a next year. We will wait and see. There are other plans afoot of which more anon.
I knew it, I was bound to forget others who made a major contribution- Reeft 1 got the Coleman Mk1 to Donie and Dugg2kk who brought his incredible display of Fisher models.

Well done to James and Donie and all the other guys involved there must have been hours and hours in putting these together. Judging by the amount of people that stopped while I was looking they were very much appreciated.
These photos can in no way do justice to being there as it was quite tricky to get photos through the glass without mad reflections. I didn't see them under lights but they must have looked even more stunning.
Overview of window 1
I was there early Saturday morning and Donie hadn't added Rory's 131 at that time (Met with Donie shortly after and he said it was in his van and he was going to take it up)
The Cronin collection
The Fisher tribute
I'm too young to remember this!
Overview window 2
Citroen service area (Class!)
Bjorn Waldegaard tribute
Window 3 overview - some superb memorabilia here
Something a bit different
Brian's handywork
Paddy O'Callaghan (Kanturk) tribute
Paddy O's infamous Beatle(1971 Circuit) Again Brian's handywork
Window 4 - Little Monte Carlo!
The irish competitors
Kris Meeke
Monte Carlo 1964 - The 50th anniversary of Paddy Hopkirk victory
The winning Jaguar Mk. VII of Ronnie Adams / Frank Biggar / Derek Johnston
Great to see John Coyne out again especially with this car
2014 Cork '20' winner Darragh O'Riordan - Much easier now, on the stages, to distinguish him from Moffet's car with this years livery
An interested visitor in the Cronin camp
Great to see Keith back and he's obviously very popular
The front of the R5 looks like a Basking shark!

Thanks for the photos Sean. You surely took on of your Coleman 6R4 !!!
Sean produced the background for the Top 9 Monte finishers in the 1964 model display.

The Zephyr like many of the others was done from photos. A large proportion are one offs. Between the 1964 and Irish section we had about 65 models on that window. Probably "lost" in the display were the Stamps and First Day Covers in the frames. I have a collection of rally themed stamps - drivers, cars and rallies. Very colourful.

Re: Cork 20 Rally 2014 Model display
What a great display. Really like the models sitting on the logs. Very interesting way of displaying them.
Fantastic collection of cars and some great themes in each window. A lot of thought and effort must have gone into each one. Well done to everyone involved. Certainly added to a great rally weekend for the town
