I thought the display Chris organised deserves its own gallery thread so here you go. Sorry I didnt take much of the others and a few more close ups of the metros

Good man, Nicky. Some great yokes on display there.

There's some ablsolutely cracking one-off 6R4 models there Chris - McRae course cars x2, Fielding 85 RAC, Coleman 86 Manx, DAM 4100, etc - well done. Love the KMD Coleman 86 Donegal car too.

David, I'm afraid they are all I took of the models. Im sure Chris will be more than happy to tell you more about the 205 in question when he sees the thread

All I can make out from the photo is that the driver was Guy Frequelin - but that's it, sorry David.

I have a video compilation on my pc of him driving it, the action is superb but I wouldnt have a clue how to post it here

Great pics Nicky, nice close ups. Certainly was an excellent display of Group B models, some lovely 'one offs' in there. love the Dam 4100 especially

I think Chris said it was a trans kit on a Vitesse 205 base model

The Peugeot Rallycross car was a transkit on a Vitesse base done a few years ago now. Pretty sure I found it at Paris Retro or in a Paris model shop.

The model to the left of the rallycross car is also very interesting. This is a Vitesse model of the Jean Pierre-Nicholas Trophy (Rally??). Pretty sure this was a shakedown for the first car. The model is rare enough along with the Yellow Nicholas Fueillate Rallycross car. Marku has had on ebay a few times. Now this one is very rare.

6R4 heaven! A great display & would love a few of them in my own tiny collection.

Then the old saying might come true:

"Mighty oaks from little acorns grow" ... Meaning. Great things may come from small collections.

Great pic's and some great models. The 6R4's stand out very well.

7 6R4s I dont have plus the DAM 4100, love the Skoda 130LR & happy to say I have the Lovell 240RS.

8 and the DAM 4100 here, and 1 unbuilt kit, but I have just as many 6R4's on display here.

Having recently 'found' this thread once more Chris, I cannot but thrill to the sight of all those two-dozen 6R4 models you had on display that weekend mate! Not once do I ever get bored of studying the photos of them all, and they really should be the inspiration anyone needs to have a specific theme to a collection. Top marks Chris!

Ha ha which in the best jounalistic link leads me nicely into Race Retro 2014 (what happened to 2013 - more nearer the time!!)

As ALL MG Metro 6R4 enthusiasts will know it is the 30th anniversary of the 6R4 in 2014. Once RR 2013 has been put to bed I will let the show organisers know of this important date in rallying history. Hopefully, they can pick up on it and put on a cracking display of real 6R4s.

Now comes the really difficult bit..... where can I get a display of 6R4 models that will out shine the real cars????

I could do it myself but in an act of madness, bravery, honour and respect to people who know more about 6R4s than me, I am going to stand down from putting on a model rally display at RR 2014 and hand my two display boxes over to Mr Dave '6R4 Senior' Sims and Mr Dave '6R4 Junior' Cox to strutt their stuff!!! What have I done....?

Seriously I have offered my two display boxes to Dave x 2 to come up with a 6R4 display in RR 2014. If required models from my own collection will be made available to them.

So Dave x 2 you have 16 months starting from now.
