Can I ask what the situation is now for buying each issue, as I don't seem to be able to find them instore any more? Am I right in thinking that they are only now available by subscription? What Nº or model are we up to at the moment?

I am eager to bulk buy the Nº 17 in the series - the 1986 1000 Lakes MG Metro 6R4 - for obvious reasons. Wink

Their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/#!/ChampionRallyCars doesn't really give away a lot! Suspect

Dave

Picked up No 7 Peugeot 206 WRC in a rural small town's WH Smiths last Saturday. So they are still in their stores. I guess they stock what they know sells, so possibly 2 - 5 per store??

They are pretty much useless at replying to anything on their Facebook page. I don't think they realise how many people are prepared to buy issue 17 in bulk. They could make a small fortune with that particular issue compared to the others.

A friend of mine paid a deposit in a WHSmiths somewhere in Birmingham and told them he'd collect the magazines once a month or so, went in a few weeks ago and they hadn't kept 2 or 3 of them and are struggling to get them on backorder Sad

Well they'd better start increasing the quantity for that particular model then Nicky - especially if all of the 6R4 nuts keep to their promises of buying it by the box load! Rolling Eyes

He's not gutted, I am as they are for me but he is trying to get me the few that are missing. I'll be sure of bringing home a few models this weekend even if I don't get any at Race Retro Very Happy

Thanks David - lucky you!

Derby & Burton have never had any of the more recent releases. Frustratingly, I was actually down in the Ramsgate area of Kent for a few days and travelled down on Saturday and back last night. Yes you've guessed it - I arrived home the day before the new issue hit the shops! Talk about a badly timed mini-break!!!!!

No mags with 6R4s at the Wimbledon branch this lunchtime! Rolling Eyes I don't know how much the magazine/ model combo is, but is it any cheaper than buying Altaya models via eBay, or are the models sufficiently different to make it worthwhile tracking the WH Smiths versions down? Yours confused and slightly miffed, Steve Crying or Very sad

They're £5.99 each Steve, but the beauty of buying them over the counter is that you get them for the original price, AND you do not have to pay any extra for P&P - maybe just a bit of petrol to get you to the nearest store that sells them that's all. Wink

That's if you can find them, David! Can't see me bagging any of these myself, which is a shame, but hey, I'll get over it!! Had a look on the WHSmith website, but there weren't any there as far as I could find! Cheers, Steve

Now this model is released you can do a back order at WHSmiths which take about six weeks. I don't think they limit you either.

Where do you do the back order then Chris? And would it matter if my particular branch didn't sell them originally?

Normally in the book department David. I would presume any store could get them.
