Toyota Corolla WRC, 2000 Rally Catalunya, Serkan Yazici, Smoking Kills, 1/18

Hi guys;

some of you might aware of this project since I have mentioned on other threads earlier.
It's been a while I have been working on it and started to take shape. so I think it deserves it's own topic now....

I am hoping to replicate the Toyota Corolla WRC driven by Turkish rally driver Serkan Yazici and his co-pilot Erkan Bodur during the WRC Catalunya in year 2000.
this is the second smoking kills model I am replicating from the same team, Team Atakan...
the first one was the gravel car from 1999 Rally Portugal driven by another Turkish driver Volkan Isik...

here is the car in process...



our base model was a AA 1/18 Toyota WRC...



before paint, I removed all decals and tampo prints..



the original was a bit high. so, for a better tarmac look I have also lowered the car.



I primed the car 2 weeks ago, and two days ago I painted the first coat of red.
and flatten the paint this morning for the second coat...



this is how she looks right after the 2nd coat of red and the final clear coat...



and a quick mock up to see how she looks





so, thats it for the time being
I have painted the car but the funny thing is that I am missing the decals
besides the smoking kills decals I have in hand, for the other decals I need to hunt on evilbay for (Studio27, ST27 DC240) and need some custom decal prints...

Thats a class build Omer. Did you use Tamiya paints for this?

and its a coincidence that yesterday was the driver Serkan Yazici's birthday. I emailed hime photos and he was very happy

and yes, I always use Tamiya Primer, TS colours and Clear Coats....
